At MISS WAXX, we exclusively use boutique Adam and Eve waxes, known for their high quality formulations, exceptional hair removal and soothing ingredients. All waxing includes complimentary essential oil towelettes by Frais to freshen up prior to service, and optional cooling Therapearl packs to help quickly calm the skin post-treatment. Our Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup range will soothe and conceal any redness after facial waxing, which your therapist will be more than happy to assist with, also with our compliments.

Good waxing results depend partly on what you do before, after, and between waxing appointments. Please read our Waxing FAQs for advice on what you can do to help us obtain the best waxing result for you. Hair must generally be at least 3-4mm to be waxed effectively. For comfort and efficiency, please pre-trim any long hairs (ideal waxing length is 6-10mm). We will happily trim for you if required using sanitised and disinfected equipment, however a trimming fee will apply.

HYGIENE

Unfortunately, many salons may cut corners when it comes to hygiene. In waxing terminology 'double dipping' is the act of putting the spatula back into the pot after wax has been applied to the skin. Once the spatula touches skin, dipping it back into the wax can potentially transfer bacteria, viruses, fungus, bodily fluids and dead skin cells from the body, back into to the wax pot. Wax is only heated to a temperature just above 60°, which isn’t hot enough to kill microorganisms (any hotter, and the wax would scald the skin).

For hygiene purposes, applicators must be disposed of after spreading wax on the skin. At MISS WAXX we have a 'no double dip' policy that ensures our therapists are using a clean disposable spatula for each application of wax during your service. In addition to our policies on double dipping, we never recycle wax (the process of reheating used wax and sifting out the hair), our therapists wear gloves during all services, we line our waxing tables with fresh soft disposable sheeting for each guest, and of course, disinfect all metal instruments (such as tweezers) between guests.
