This professional treatment begins with a light body brush on dry areas to buff skin, followed by moisturising of any dry areas to avoid tan build up (generally ankles, knees, wrists and elbows). Next an application of professional-grade self tan lotion is carefully applied using gloved hands to produce a golden tan. Areas are blended to ensure even coverage, but expect the final smooth and even effect after a shower (2-8 hours post application depending on the brand of tan selected).

Ideal for all skin types, our selected tanning products are formulated to flatter all skin colours - even people with even the fairest skins. The results of this treatment can last up to 7-10 days with the correct aftercare, and will fade gradually over this period. Retail products are also available to top up the tan at home.

IMPORTANT PREPARATION AND HOME CARE FOR TAN APPLICATION

1. Use a loofah or mitt to thoroughly exfoliate the body thoroughly prior to your tan appointment.
2. Avoid applying moisturiser, lotions or body scrubs that leave an oily residue. These will act as an inhibitor to the tan and negatively affect the final result.
3. Bring dark and loose clothing to wear after your tan to avoid staining light clothing, or rubbing the tan off, and to feel most comfortable. A strapless bra or bathing suit is recommended to protect rubbing in the shoulder area, especially if you are wearing a strapless dress to an upcoming event.
4. Don't be concerned if the tan looks streaky after application, this is simply the bronzing makeup in the tan which allows the therapist to ensure thorough application. This will wash off when you shower, leaving an even tan. Choose Xen Tan for a practically streak-free finish.
5. Leave the tan on for 4-8 hours to develop before showering, or overnight for the deepest, longest lasting colour (2-3 hours is sufficient for Xen Tan if time is short). 
6. Remember to sleep on dark sheets to avoid staining bedding.
7. Moisturise daily to preserve the tan for the longest time.
8. Exfoliate only when you are ready to remove the tan.
